Minting Phases

Alkanes use smart contracts so there are multiple options for gamified mints however the majority on Shovel will be "Open Mints"

Open Mint: Anyone can mint tokens within limits

How to mint?

  1. Go to 'mint' page

  2. Click "mint" on chosen token

  3. Token will pre-fill mint details

  4. Choose fee rate (high is recommended if a mint is going quickly)

  5. Click "mint"

  6. Approve transaction in the wallet pop-up

Minting Options

  1. Pre Split (less than 25 mints): Mint in one block, using confirmed UTXO's

  2. Auto Split (25 - 1000 mints): Our system will automatically split your BTC (UTXO's) to mint greater than 25 mints. This takes 2 blocks so it is recommended not to use if a mint is almost complete.

Fees

  • Standard Bitcoin transaction fees apply

  • Platform fees vary depending on number of mints

  • 1-5 mints - 1000 sats

  • After 5 mints an additional 300 sats per mint

Tips for Efficient Minting

  • Pre splitting UTXO's

  • Prepare your wallet with small UTXOs in advance UTXO - Unspent Transaction Output - Fractions of BTC available to spend
